Recently I have been getting strange pimples all over my face, chest and back. I think they might be blackheads but I'm not sure. They don't look like blackheads, they look like whiteheads I guess (if whiteheads look like tiny pimples with no heads).

When I scratch at them I pop them open and this hard caramel-colored waxy thing comes out, that's why I think it may be blackheads, but why don't they look dark? The stuff that comes out of them is of decent size also.

Does anyone know what they are?

What could be causing them?

Could something I'm eating be causing them?

Does anyone have experience getting these?

omg please help... I don't know what to do

    • Whiteheads and blackheads are the same thing. A blackhead is a whitehead that has been exposed to air. The oxidation from the air makes the whitehead turn dark at the surface and become a blackhead.

A lot of people misuse the term whitehead for red pimples with pus. Those are correctly termed pustules, not whiteheads.

Instead of squeezing or scratching please go to the drugstore and get a blackhead tool. It will simply and easily press out the blackhead without damaging your skin.
